Maui – Five Top Maui Favorites

In all the world, Maui is my very most favorite vacation destination. I haven’t been everywhere, but when paradise is calling, this is my perfect definition! My family and I always contemplate going elsewhere, but Maui always, always wins. Every single time! It’s not too crowded and has the bluest beaches. It’s nice to just hang out, relax and enjoy the warm breeze against your face while the waves crash against the hot sand. I don’t have to think, just enjoy the scenery. I know it like my own city. Ahh, just thinking about it makes me want to go right now!

My top five Maui favorites are always a must in my book every time we go. Starting with the place to stay. I absolutely love Kaanapali Beach. It’s quiet, and extra gorgeous. It has a walkway lining the back of the hotels kissing the sand of the beautiful beaches with lots of palm trees scattered along the way. It’s fun, especially at night. Tiki torches light the way, with hammocks ready to relax in. I also love looking at the beautiful water from my lanai at The Whaler.

It’s a condominium complex/hotel we always stay at. I always VRBO a great room here. There are studios to three bedrooms available depending on how many people you want to bring. We stayed on the eleventh floor our last stay and the view was breathtaking!

My number two favorite is snorkeling at Black Rock. When you stay on Kaanapali Beach you’re right within walking distance. Throw on your swimsuit, bring your snorkel, and get ready to see some amazing fish in the crystal clear water. Turtles show up occasionally to mingle and ride the tide. Two sting rays swam past me rather close last time too. If you’re daring, climb up and jump off the rock or just watch others.  It’s an exhilarating day!

My number three favorite is a snorkel cruise to Molokini Crater. Of all the places I’ve snorkeled in Maui, this just doesn’t compare to the rest. It’s the little underwater volcano right off Maui’s shore. It’s a super exciting day! Go out on a catamaran and take in the sites of the beautiful island while you’re making your way to the little island. They usually serve breakfast and lunch. Some even have fun slides to use and play on as well. Lather on some sunscreen and jump into the clearest of the clear water. I just can’t tell you how gorgeous the coral and brightly colored tropical fish are. You won’t want to miss this day trip!

My number four favorite is going to breakfast at Slappy Cakes. It’s a different kind of restaurant. Sit down, and there’s a hot griddle in the middle of the table. Order some flavored pancake batter, toppings, syrup and get crazy. It’s a fun time to laugh with family and it’s extra delicious.

My number five favorite is strolling along Front Street in Lahaina. It’s full of little shops and restaurants. I like to go at night after a day spent in the water and enjoy the cool breezes and shopping while cooling off with some Ululani’s Shave Ice. It’s truly the best shave ice anywhere. I can only describe it as if they use freshly fallen fluffy snow with a sweet flavored syrup. It’s a must! My little guy just couldn’t get enough. Me either! I’m embarrassed to say I went everyday, maybe two…maybe three times. Don’t judge me! The banana is just so good!

Maui is my kind of place and you should totally hop on over to paradise. You won’t regret it. These are my top five must do favorites every time I go because it’s just not a Maui trip without them.

Five favorites doesn’t do the island justice, maybe more like five hundred, but I promise I’ll be back with more fun favorites in the sun. You’ll never have a dull moment. Check it out! There’s so much to do It won’t disappoint you in the slightest! What’s your favorite paradise?
